the Joanna Hodges Memorial Award was created to honor the life’s work of world renown concert pianist, master teacher, and founder of the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition (JHIPC) that was held in Palm Desert for over a decade. If Joanna hodges was your teacher, or if your teacher was one of the many teaching assistants of Joanna Hodges, please consider donating to this award that will honor a student of a current teacher who studied with Joanna Hodges. May the legacy of Joanna’s life’s work, helping her students to succeed in life, live on.
The Joanna Hodges Memorial Award was created to honor my piano teacher and teaching mentor, Joanna Hodges. This award will be given to the graduating high school senior who best exhibits the qualities exemplified by Joanna Hodges; determination, musicality, creativity with music, achieving goals and recognition throughout high school and the previous years at Wenjen Piano Studios. The awardee will receive a cash prize.
